Ford Created a Mustang-Inspired, Limited-Edition Ice Cream Sandwich

In mid-July, Ford commemorated National Ice Cream Day by introducing a limited edition "Orange Fury" ice cream sandwich that was inspired by an available exterior color for the 2018 Mustang and created with Coolhaus Premium Ice Cream.

The sandwich was constructed by wrapping two Vanilla Whoopie cookies that were covered with orange icing around a scoop of Orange Fury ice cream, then wrapped in a Mustang-printed edible wrapper that was made from potato wafer paper and edible ink. The treats were available for a limited time in New York City and the Coolhaus shop in Los Angeles.

Barb Whalen, Ford Color and Materials Design Manager, engaged the product developers at Coolhaus to create this treat that captures the iconic vehicle and its eye-popping new color.

In a press release, Whalen noted, “I typically focus on things like color research, leather seats and hand stitching, so this was definitely a bit different for me. It was fun applying some of those same design philosophies into helping Coolhaus create an ice cream flavor that really embodies the new Orange Fury color.”
